The durability of corrugated plastics products is a key benefit of Inteplast’s innovative packaging products in the Coroplast® and IntePro lines. Through wear and tear, our reusable products maintain top-notch performance in wet and humid environments. It allows our customers to offer recyclability to their clients as well as support companies’ desire to integrate lean manufacturing and sustainability into protocol across operations.
For example, suppliers of automobile parts trust Inteplast’s Coroplast® products to package and ship components to assembly plants, often for the multiple year life of the car model. This eliminates considerable expendable packaging, such as corrugated paper boxes, which would otherwise be used once and then discarded.
Corrugated plastic is idea for wet applications (product packaging, for instance) as it is impervious to water. Typically corrugated paper is produced with a wax coating or the boxes are dipped in wax in order to withstand the water and ice used to keep the packaged product cool during shipping. Once a waxed corrugated paper box is used, it cannot be recycled, so it winds up in a landfill.
When your company has determined that our packaging has maximized its efficiency, the material is easily recyclable. Our boxes can be collected, ground, reprocessed and used to manufacture other products, including new corrugated plastic boxes. We make it a priority to play our part in closing the loop to support a circular economy within our industry and the markets we serve.
Finally, producing corrugated plastic boxes do not require expensive molds. We and our customers typically produce our products on conventional corrugated box production equipment. Also, unique box designs can be made far more quickly than the time required to produce an injection molded product.
During the PACK EXPO International Show our Booth #E-6926 in the Reusable Packaging Pavilion will showcase tote boxes, standard corrugated box designs or RSCs (regular slotted carton) and autolock bottom boxes (ALBs), uniquely produced in Lolita, Texas. The bottom of these boxes, when opened, the bottom automatically assembles for easy loading. Our large bulk box, a Titan sleeve with a molded plastic pallet and cap, will also be available.
While Inteplast is North America’s leading manufacturer of corrugated plastics, we also pride ourselves on continuously learning how we can improve and offer our customers quality sustainable packaging. This approach includes reuse and recycle practices that are cost-efficient and representative of the innovation we deliver to our customers and their affiliated markets and communities.
